We implemented CIS in the first pilot private school SR Sri Mawar, Miri and the first pilot Government school SK Datu Pengiran Mohamad, Oya in 2001. By November 2001, after CIS was implemented for almost a year, the program helped SR Sri Mawar achieve outstanding results in the Primary 6 Evaluation Examinations, UPSR.

SR Sri Mawar was awarded “Sekolah Cemerlang” by the Ministry of Education consecutively from 2002 to 2005. Due to this promising start, CIE officially awarded the CIS franchise and sole agency to Danawa, to implement CIS in Malaysia in 2002. Since then, more than 240
Government and private institutions throughout Malaysia have been involved in the course.

The program also received encouraging support from Chinese private schools throughout Malaysia. For the last 5 years, more than 180 Chinese private schools have adopted CIS as the primary ICT syllabus for their students.

To date, almost 15,000 modular certificates from CIE have been awarded to students in rural schools in Sarawak for successfully completing the CIS course modules.
